The Doctors's Tips for Staying Healthy During the Holidays
2. Wash your hands regularly. Yes, although there are hand sanitizers everywhere, nothing works as well as soap and water. Washing regularly helps prevent you from getting something from the spread of germs that someone else left behind. 3. Take your Multiplex or Nutrient 950 multivitamin at the "higher" dose (2 caps, three times daily or 3 twice a daily) within (not before or after) meals. If you're urine turns yellow, you're on track. Make sure the kids are on the multi we recommended for them as well. 4. Take a human strain probiotic like HMF Forte. (One or two caps daily with food). More and more research is suggesting that probiotics support healthy immune function, and HMF is the only human strain probiotic we've found (all others are made from milk or soy). 5. Laugh every day. Yes, it's true. Laughter can put you in a good frame of mind, and stimulate healthy immune function. Believe it or not, laughter can actually improve your body's chemistry. Don't have anything to laugh about. Make a silly face at yourself in the mirror to get you laughing, do it- in the car or at home! 6. Stay hydrated. Drinking plenty of water not only keeps your cells healthy, but is also directly related to the youth of your body. Drink at least 1/2 ounces per pound of body weight. So if you weigh 160lbs, you should be drinking 80 ounces or 5 glasses of water daily (one large glass = 16 ounces).
7. Keep moving. Although it's a time that we often find ourselves curled up next to the fire, stay active. If you don't have an exercise program, start one. |
